FRACTIONAL/DECIMAL 6" DIAL CALIPERS FOR WOODWORKING
This is a must have tool for woodworkers. This 6" caliper has a combination fractional/decimal inch display graduated in 64ths. It is also marked every 1/8" on the inner portion of the face and .01" on the outer portion. The markings make it very easy to read .
This has many different measuring capabilities.
THICKNESS OF WOOD
Easily measure your stock as it comes out of the planer. This is much easier than using a tape measure. Also measure the precise width of a board you've cut in order to adjust the rip fence scale on your table saw
WIDTH OF A DADO
Also great for setting up the dado blades to cut just the right width the first time.
DEPTH OF A RABBET OR DADO
Use the back of the caliper to measure the depth or width of a rabbet. If you use a zero clearance throat plate on your table saw you can easily set the blade height with these calipers.
MEASURE DEPTH OF A HOLE
Easily measure the precise depth of a hole with a diameter .250" and above.
PLUS so many more uses you will find for it. I'm a woodworker and I could'nt do without mine in my shop.
American Woodworker ran an article on this type of calipers in their Sept. 2004 issue starting on page 34. Check it out and see what they have to say.
